218. செகமாயை உற்று

உலக மாயையின் காரணமாக இல்லற வாழ்வில் இணைந்த ஒரு பெண்ணின் கருவில் உயிர் உருவாகி, பத்து மாதங்கள் வளர்ந்து, முழுமையான உடல் வடிவுடன் இவ்வுலகில் பிறக்கும் மனித வாழ்க்கையின் தொடக்கத்தை அருணகிரிநாதர் இங்கு நினைவுபடுத்துகிறார்.

பிறந்த குழந்தையின் உச்சியை முகர்ந்து, முகத்தைப் பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்து, மலை போன்ற தோள்களில் சுமந்து, மடியில் வைத்துக் கொஞ்சி விளையாடுகின்றனர். அந்தக் குழந்தையின் மணிபோன்ற சிறிய வாயால் கிடைக்கும் முத்தம் பெற்றோருக்கு அளவற்ற இன்பத்தைத் தருகிறது. அதுபோல முருகப்பெருமானே, நீயும் என் மடியில் வந்து விளையாடி, உன் மணிவாயால் எனக்கு முத்தம் தர வேண்டும் என்று அருணகிரிநாதர் வேண்டுகிறார்.

வள்ளியை அணைத்தருள வந்தவனே! பழமையான வேதங்களின் உள்ளார்ந்த பரம்பொருளின் உண்மையை சிவபெருமானுக்கே உபதேசித்த குருநாதனே! தகுதியற்ற எனக்கும் உன் திருவடிகளை காணும் அருளை வழங்கிய சுவாமிமலை முருகனே என்று அவர் போற்றுகிறார்.

காவிரியின் வடகரையில் எழுந்தருளி, சமரில் வெற்றி தரும் வேலை ஏந்திய பெருமாளே, எனக்கு உன் அருளையும் அன்பையும் வழங்குவாயாக என்பதே இப்பாடலின் ஆழ்ந்த வேண்டுதல்.

Arunagirinathar begins by contemplating human birth. A child takes form in the mother's womb, grows for ten months and finally enters the world with a complete human form.

He then describes the tenderness surrounding a child: smelling the baby's head, gazing lovingly at its face, carrying it upon the shoulders, placing it on the lap and delighting in its playful presence. Arunagirinathar turns this parental affection into devotion and asks Murugan to come to him like a beloved child and bless him with a kiss from his jewel-like lips.

Murugan is praised as the Lord who came to embrace Valli and as the supreme Guru who revealed the profound meaning hidden within the ancient Vedas. At Swamimalai, Murugan is revered as the Guru who imparted divine wisdom even to Lord Shiva.

The hymn concludes by praising Murugan who abides on the northern bank of the Kaveri, bearing the victorious Vel. The song beautifully brings together parental affection, surrender, divine grace and the Guru principle.
