பார்வதி தேவியின் நாயகனான சிவபெருமானை வணங்குகிறோம். மகாதேவனே, உமக்கு அரோகரா! தென்னாட்டின் சிவனே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறோம்; எல்லா நாட்டவர்களுக்கும் பொதுவான இறைவனே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறோம்.
திருஏகம்பத்தில் உறையும் எங்கள் தந்தையே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறோம். உமையம்மையை ஒரு பாகமாகக் கொண்ட அர்த்தநாரீஸ்வரரே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறோம். பொன்னொளித் திரளாக விளங்கும் இறைவனே, எங்களைக் காத்தருள்வாயாக. திருக்கயிலையில் உறையும் சிவபெருமானே, உம்மை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் போற்றுகிறோம்.
Maguda Manthiram is a devotional invocation compiled from sacred verses associated with the Thevaram tradition. It offers praise to Lord Shiva as the consort of Goddess Parvati, the Lord worshipped in the South, the universal God of all people, the Lord of Ekambam, Ardhanarishvara who shares one half of His form with the Divine Mother, the radiant golden Supreme Being, and the Lord of Mount Kailash.
The prayer beautifully brings together the inseparable nature of Shiva and Shakti and concludes in complete praise and surrender to Lord Shiva.
